Grammy Nomination
Los Angeles, CA
During a press conference held on Dec 6th in Los Angeles, CA, the Recording
Academy announced the nominees for the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Daywind
Music Group recording artist Karen Peck & New River was nominated for their
Daywind debut release, Journey of Joy, in the best Southern, Country or
Bluegrass Gospel Album category. Produced by GRAMMY award winning
producer, Bubba Smith, Journey of Joy, features the #1 Singing News hit, "Last
Night". Also on the record is a song co-written by EARL GALLOWAY entitled
"Whispered Prayers". This song is very unique in that on the very end,
Karen asked The Galloways and some of her other friends to come into the studio
and record a prayer meeting. "It is one of the most amazing things I've
ever been a part of. We had revival in that studio!" states Earl Galloway.
Earl continues, "Brittany says that she considers herself nominated for a GRAMMY
since she helped pray on the record. She has also informed me that she
will be on hand to help Karen pick out something FABULOUS to wear on the red
carpet!" "We are elated and thankful to the Lord for this honor."
exclaimed Karen Peck Gooch. We are living proof that even after 17 years
of serving, dreams do come true and things do not happen overnight."
Gooch, along with her sister Susan Peck Jackson, and Devin McGlamery make up
Karen Peck & New River. The GRAMMY Awards will be celebrating it's "Golden
Anniversary" of music recognition at the February 10, 2008, ceremony, to be held
at the Los Angeles' Staples Center, and will be broadcast in high-definition TV
and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8-11:30 p.m. (ET/PT) For more info on

Galloways Trailer Stolen
The Galloways trailer that contained all of the supplies for Smoky Mountain
Christmas, an event The Galloways and Tony Gore host, has been stolen. The
Galloways trailer had been parked and left in Sevierville, TN last Sunday.
Upon The Galloways return they discovered the trailer was missing. Earl
says, "At first we thought Tony was playing a prank on us and had moved the
trailer. But, after seeing the look on his face...I knew we had just lost
everything." Tony adds, "There is just an unexplainable feeling to know
that everything we have worked for the past 5 years of Smoky Mountain Christmas
has been taken from us." The local police department is conducting an
investigation into the theft of the double axle trailer and contents. Tony
Gore and The Galloways want to announce that all Smoky Mountain Christmas shows,
including a dinner for the homeless in Nashville, later this month, will go on
as planned.

The Bridge featured on The Gospel Greats
The Bridge was featured on the Nationally Syndicated Radio Show Paul Heil's
Gospel Greats. Here is an excerpt from the shows website. "Scharlene
Galloway's comments on the program's second hour about "The Bridge" ministry in
Nashville really caught my attention. As you heard, this is an actual
church that meet Tuesday evenings under the Jefferson Street Bridge in
Nashville, operated by "a faith based, multi-denominational band of dedicated
volunteers." Candy Hemphill Christmas started this after noticing homeless
people gathering there. Now hundreds come out every Tuesday evening to be
fed (both body and soul) and clothed. There's so much more to Scharlene's
telling of the story -- much more than I could fit on the program -- that I
decided to do something unusual. You can listen to Scharlene's entire
description of The Bridge Ministry online. There's a lot more information
about this available on the ministry's own website
www.thebridgeministryinc.com You'll see
some amazing photos there. Earl Galloway says a lot of people have been
asking how to contribute to this ministry. He says tax-deductible
donations can be mailed to The Bridge P.O. Box 110230, Nashville, TN 37222."
