The
Bridge
Matthew 25:35-40
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave
me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes
and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you
came to visit me. "Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we
see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe
you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? "The
King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of
these brothers of mine, you did for me."
The Galloways moved to Nashville, TN in June of 2000, because of their schedule it was very difficult to find a home church. That is until February of 2007. Many of you probably remember Candy Hemphill Christmas who performed with her family the Hemphills and has been on many of the Gaither Homecoming concerts/videos as a solo artist. Two years ago, Candy started a ministry called "The Bridge". "The Bridge" ministry is literally located under the Jefferson Street Bridge downtown Nashville, TN. Candy invited the Galloways to come down one Tuesday night in February and it has forever changed their lives.
"The Bridge" ministry feeds, hands out clothing and has a church service under the bridge for all the homeless people living in Nashville. During the summer they average about 350 homeless people. The Galloways decided that, since they had not been able to find a church in Nashville, "The Bridge" would be their new home church. Every Tuesday night at 6pm, homeless people from all across Nashville come down under the Jefferson Street Bridge to get food, clothing and hear great singing and a short message from guest speakers all across the country.
All throughout the year, The
Galloways, come to your church...now you have the opportunity to come to theirs.
Welcome to "The Bridge"!
The Bridge Ministries was featured on Paul Heil's Gospel Greats on July 14th and 15th, 2007. To hear the show you can visit www.thegospelgreats.com/current.htm Scroll down the page until you see The Bridge being mentioned.

The invitation is given and the people come...there are no
altars at this "church", they come on their hands and knees in the dirt
and gravel before God.

Scharlene praying with someone Candy pulled this
homeless man from the crowd and had him lead everyone in the song "The Bible"

After the service is over everyone lines back up and can
come through the line and get whatever articles of clothing they may need,
socks, pants, underwear, shirts, etc...

They can also get bags of food to take with them
When all is said and done this is what it's truly about...Bridging the Gap for
those in need!

Jasmine, Candy's daughter singing Candy had everyone dancin...shakin off worries
Jack is one of the guys under the Bridge, he plays a
writes gospel music and didn't have a guitar so a pastor in PA at Keys to the
Kingdom Church gave The Galloways a brand new Yamaha guitar to take to
Jack...ironically the guitar was bought on Broadway in Nashville and has
returned there with Jack. He was given the guitar right across from the
famous church The Ryman. Special thanks the Pastor Karl and Keys to the
Kingdom for making Jack's dream come true.

Jack talking to Pastor Karl who gave him the guitar. Jack said, "I'll
never get rid of this guitar for as long as I live!".
